Send Firefox

You can use Firefox to create a shortcut on your computer's desktop to a page you've visited:

  1. Resize the Firefox window so you can see both your computer's desktop and the Firefox window on the same screen.
  2. Click the icon on the left of the address bar (where the URL is shown).
  3. While still holding the mouse button down, move the pointer to the desktop, then release the mouse button. The shortcut will be created.
Note: If drag and drop doesn't work in Firefox, see the article Drag and Drop errors with Firefox Launcher Process enabled and Windows UAC disabled - How to Fix.

You can also drag and drop items to the desktop from the Bookmarks menu and the Library window to create shortcuts.

Firefox Send was a free and open-sourceend-to-end encryptedfile sharing web service developed by Mozilla.[2] It was launched on March 12, 2019[3] and was taken offline on July 7, 2020 after the discovery that it was used to spread malware and spear phishing attacks. The shut down was made permanent on September 17, 2020,[4] following employee lay-offs in August[5] that likely included the staff who would have been responsible for implementing abuse prevention and malware reporting mechanisms.[6]

Send Firefox To Roku

  1. Send lets you share files with end-to-end encryption and a link that automatically expires. So you can keep what you share private and make sure your stuff doesn’t stay online forever.
  2. Today's tutorial is a tool which allows free file transfers that are not only secure but private. It's called 'Firefox Send' and it's a free easy to use ser.

Firefox Send allowed users to upload computer files, including large files up to 2.5 gigabytes, to the Send website, generating links from which the file could be accessed and downloaded.[7] Users could also set expiration dates or maximum number of downloads for the links.[8]

The service was end-to-end encrypted, meaning only the uploader and those who the links are shared with can view the file.[2]

History[edit]

In August 2017, Mozilla launched Firefox Send via its Test Pilot program. The developers wanted to experiment with end-to-end encrypted data synching and this service allowed them to try out encrypting large files, gigabytes in size, as opposed to the megabytes usually synched by browsers.[9]

Firefox Send was launched to the public on March 12, 2019.[3] On July 7, 2020, the service was suspended because absence of any form of authentication and abuse reporting mechanisms attracted cybercriminals who used it to send malware and mount spear phishing attacks.[10] The suspension was supposed to be temporary and should have lasted only as long as necessary to implement mandatory authentication via Firefox Account for file uploading and mechanisms for reporting previously uploaded malware.[10]

On September 17, 2020, as a part of Mozilla's business and products refocusing plans, the service was shut down permanently, along with Firefox Notes.[6][4]
