I don't know why Joy misgendered her but it's an important reminder that we don't misgender people even if we don't like their politics.

If your first instinct is to call Caitlyn Jenner a man or attack Caitlyn for being transgender, rather than talk about the substance of her campaign or policy ideas, you're telling on yourself and revealing your bias.

Addressing her mistake after returning from a commercial break, the TV personality said, “So first of all let me apologize for my pronoun mixup. I think I just didn’t get enough sleep last night.”

Behar continued, “I think I just didn’t get enough sleep last night. I had no intention of mixing them up, and I tried to correct it immediately, but whatever, it just came out. So I’m sorry if anybody was upset by that.”

“The View” co-host Joy Behar has joined the litany of leftists offering ridiculous, implausible, unrealistic hot takes in the wake of an Ohio police officer fatally shooting 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant to protect a black teenage girl from being stabbed to death.

According to Behar, the police officer, who had only a split second to make a decision, should have fired his gun into the air instead of shooting Bryant, seemingly unaware of the fact that a stray bullet could potentially kill an innocent bystander. Behar was responding to a video from CNN’s Don Lemon, who defended the officer’s use of deadly force.

“When I look at this video, I see police responding to a dangerous incident where someone is armed with a knife. Police have walked up on a situation, and they need to figure out what’s happening. Other lives are in danger. If we’re gonna discuss this case, we need to be honest and use our common sense. We cannot have a double standard. We have to acknowledge that police have jobs to do,” said Lemon.

“My feeling is, I don’t know if that’s true or not. I really can’t figure it out anymore,” Behar said in response to Don Lemon.

Behar said that there is “something wrong” if the only solution to someone potentially killing another human is to use deadly force.

“I mean, it seems to me in a situation — this is what it looked to me. And I looked at the tape and still can’t figure it out,” she continued. “Shoot the gun in the air as a warning. Tase a person. Shoot them in the leg. Shoot them in the behind. Stop them somehow. But if the only solution is to kill a teenager, there’s something wrong with this. There’s something very, very wrong with the way these things are being conducted. Even if the cop had to do it, there’s something wrong with it. I can’t explain it any better than that.”

She added, “We keep talking about this over and over again, and kids still keep getting shot. It’s like the gun issue in this country. People keep getting shot, and nothing ever gets done about it. It’s [a] very frustrating conversation to have. I can’t add much to it.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin agreed with Joy Behar, arguing that Bryant’s death is yet-another example of systemic racism.

“My question is, why is deadly force always the first order of business, and especially the first order of business when it comes to black and brown people in this country?” she asked.

“We shouldn’t live in a country, quite frankly, where it’s acceptable for the police to shoot a 16-year-old four times in the chest over a fight,” Hostin continued. “It goes from zero to execution very, very quickly when there is a black or brown person involved. That is just the truth.”
